If you are into boating or sailing then you know there are some things you can live with and other things you cannot live without. Having a weather radio will be very beneficial for you because it will allow you to hear the weather predictions and prepare yourself for whatever may be coming. Other instruments that prove very helpful to boaters and sailors include a wind speed indicator. If you know how fast the wind is blowing you can make some judgment calls about the storm and how to prepare yourself for it. You should also have a digital hygrometer to measure the humidity in the air. When you have all of these things then you will be better prepared to head out on the ocean in your boat or sailboat. Keep in mind, however, that you need to know how to use this equipment and read results for it to benefit you. As long as you are educated and prepared you will have no problems when you are out at sea.
